Physician Membership Categories

Please select a category below. Completion of an application for AAHKS membership indicates your permission for the Association to investigate your credentials, including but not limited to contacting any medical society, state licensing board or the hospital where you have privileges.

Fellow members are board certified by the ABOS, RCPSC or AOBOS; active fellows of the AAOS, RCPSC or AOBOS; perform at least 50 THR/TKR or osteotomies annually.
Candidate members are board eligible in orthopaedic surgery upon completion of a total joint fellowship and are members or qualified for membership in AAOS, RCPSC or AOBOS.
AIT members are resident members of AAOS, RCPSC or AOBOS or currently in a total joint fellowship program.
Associate members are surgeons licensed in a country outside of the U.S. and Canada, practicing in the U.S. or Canada, do not qualify for Fellow membership and regularly perform THR/TKR or osteotomies about the hip or knee annually.
International members are surgeons licensed in a country outside of the U.S. and Canada whose primary practices are outside of the U.S. and Canada.
International Resident members are surgeons who are currently enrolled in training programs outside of the U.S. and Canada.

Non-physician Membership Categories

You qualify for Clinical Affiliate Membership if you are an allied health professional/orthopaedic team member with hip and knee surgeons (e.g., PA, PA-C, NP, RN or APRN) and have have an interest in the advancement of orthopaedic knowledge of the hip and knee joint in health and/or arthritic disorders.
You are eligible for Non-clinical Affiliate membership if you do not qualify for Fellow or Associate membership, are a non-surgeon professional involved with hip and knee surgeons (e.g. researcher, engineer, scientist, hospital administrator or practice manager), are notable for contributions in advancement of knowledge of hip and knee joints in health and disease or shall have demonstrated long-standing special interest or service to AAHKS and have an interest in the advancement of orthopaedic knowledge of the hip and knee joint in health and/or arthritic disorders. Note: membership is not open to sales personnel.
Fellow members who are active in the US armed services receive a discounted dues rate.
Candidate members who are active in the US armed services receive a discounted dues rate.

Annual Dues Rates

For the remainder of 2017, dues are waived (application fee applies)!
Regular dues rates begin on January 1, 2018 and are prorated throughout the year.* 

There is a one-time $25 non-refundable application fee.

AAHKS Membership Dues are not deductible as a charitable contribution but may be deductible as an ordinary and necessary business expense. To the extent that AAHKS engages in lobbying, ten percent (10%) of dues are not deductible as an ordinary and necessary business expense. The Journal of Arthroplasty subscription price for one (1) year is included in your membership dues.
